I would not mind saving the whole world from itself
Single-handedly becoming a poster-boy for the antithesis of a waste of space in time
[but] There’s a reason I am stuck in my own world
They gave me a plate so full of vegetables
It could take ten years to digest the whole thing down

I rise and I fall and I’ve seen it all a thousand times before
I’m up and I’m down just hanging around till the right one walks through my door

You filter, filter
All you ever see is black
Filter, filter
Then you think you’re gonna crack
Filter filter
You’ll never get perfection
There are bursting clouds and blooming trees just look in my direction

I am trudging through a swamp been made for me; every now and again
I catch a glimpse of some sort of light
But I ignore it I never go for it, it seems so damn strange
And once I tried having what they call a friend
But you can never trust them they get under your skin
Friends serve a purpose…but it’s over the counter

I rise and I fall and I’ve seen it all a thousand times before (I rise I fall)
I’m up and I’m down hanging around till the right one walks through my door (Multi-personality)

You filter, filter
All you ever see is black
Filter, filter
Then you think you’re gonna crack
